Profitant de la générosité d’un membre du forum http://lepidoptera.forumactif.com, j’ai reçu une dizaine oeufs de Morpho peleides. Il s’agit d’un papillon originaire d’Amérique centrale offrant de magnifiques reflets bleu métallisé à l’intérieur des ailes.

Comment dire? Surprenant, merveilleux, incroyable ? Les adjectifs manquent pour décrire les différentes phases du développement de cet hétérocère (papillon de nuit). J’aurais pu titrer cet article : « le Brahmaea hearseyi ou l’art de la transformation ».

Agamemnon, joli prénom pour un papillon, qui fleure bon la mythologie, son nom exact est « Graphium agamemnon ». Pourquoi « agamemnon »? Parce qu’il vient de Grèce, Perdu! il vient d’Asie. Alors le mystère reste entier, quel rapport existe-t-il entre le roi de légende et ce lépidoptère?
